A Ruined View of Heaven
Bastard glances; shaded inappropriately,
kindled in the after-hours with heavy hands and denser fears.
The incoherent mumbling of the madman in the closet,
the body buried beneath the bed.
Life is nothing after all but a series of poorly worded vignettes
spoken by a feverish child after peering through the keyhole
at the gaudy presentation of paradise.
